You can rent the Lester-Amity Chalet for private events year-round.

LAC is available for rent anytime it is not open to the public during our winter "open hours." During spring, summer and fall, the chalet is available for private rental 7 days a week, 8am-11pm. During winter months when there is skiable snow on the ski trails, the chalet is available for private rental M-F (8am-4pm), Saturdays (5-11pm) and Sundays (4-11pm). 

Building Info and Set-up:

LAC has wooden benches that seat 60-70 people, but past groups have brought in folding chairs to add to the available seating for weddings and other larger events. LAC can technically hold up to 200 people, but it would be tight, and the space will not accommodate this many seated guests. LAC is more ideal for groups of 100 or less. 

There is no oven or microwave at LAC, but there is a working prep sink behind the long (former concessions) counter, and there are outlets on either side of the counter for crockpots, coffee makers, etc. There is a small portable firepit which may be used a safe distance from the building so long as an adult is attending to it while lit. 
 

Alcohol: If you plan to have alcohol on site, you must also apply for an alcohol consumption permit with the City of Duluth Department of Community Resources. Contact them at (218) 730-4300, or
visit http://www.duluthmn.gov/parks/reservations-permits/ to view the City permit online. The approved permit must be in your possession during the event. No sales of alcoholic beverages permitted (cash bar
must be managed by permitted caterer). City Policy may require that a uniformed security officer be present for your event if alcohol is on site. City of Duluth Police Officers are sometimes available; call
(218) 730-5421 to inquire. No alcoholic beverages shall be distributed to, carried on, or consumed by the persons attending this event unless an alcohol consumption permit has been approved and a uniformed
security officer is present if required. MN State statutes may also apply.

If you are interested in hosting an event at the chalet for which you will be charging attendees to participate or for which you expect a large number of participants (e.g. a race, class or workshop), please reach out to us directly to inquire, as additional conditions may apply.
