Adult XC Ski Programming
Duluth Cross-Country Ski Club is excited to provide Fall and Winter Adult Programming for both beginner and intermediate cross country skiers. Our Adult XC Ski Program is a great opportunity to get outside and enjoy the beauty of a Duluth winter, surrounded by community, while developing your skills!
Level Descriptions
Level 1
The Level 1 session is meant for those who are just starting out and who have never had instruction. If you’ve just begun skiing and would like to improve your basic skate or classic skiing with some help from an experienced instructor, this is the session for you. The focus of the Level 1 groups will be on learning the basics of equipment and technique for whichever technique is being taught at that particular session. These sessions can be described as “learn to ski” classes.
Level 2
Are you a relatively experienced skier, but feel like you’re stuck in some old habits that are holding you back from improving your skiing or racing faster? Or are you relatively new to XC skiing but feel like you’ve mastered the basics and need help to take it to the next level? The Level 2 skiing session is a great way to improve your skiing. If you have skied before and/or you ski fairly regularly and feel confident in your ability to balance and glide, these sessions are for you. The goal of these sessions is to improve efficiency and coordination rather than learn how to ski. If you are able to ski a full loop at a trail such as Lester Park or Hartley Park, but you would like to be able to ski those loops faster and with less effort, sessions designated as “Level 2” would be right for you.
Level 3
DXC does not offer Level 3 adult programming at this time. However, if you are an advanced skier who enjoys racing and training and would like to improve your fitness and ability, please feel free to contact DXC for some recommendations of other ski program options in Duluth.
For All Sessions
Skiers must provide their own equipment.
Make sure you have a Trail Pass, if required at that week's choice of a trail. For Duluth municipal trails, purchase your MN Ski Pass, which is required for skiers aged 16+ on city-groomed trails.

Let's shake the rust off together. Get ready for ski season with a ski-focused strength and fitness session. This session will be on foot (running/jogging/plyometric/strength) and will focus on strength and fitness in the lead up to ski season. There will be some ski-specific technique work as well, but the main goal will be to increase fitness and general strength prior to ski season.
