DXC Technique Clinics Begin Jan. 13: Registration Required

In previous years, attendance at ski technique clinics has been irregular: sometimes 15 people show up, other times no one at all. So we’re trying something different this season: pre-registration. The sessions are still free, but you must be a DXC member to participate. (Also, you must have the appropriate ski pass: MN Ski Pass for city-groomed trails such as Lester or Hartley, or a day pass for Snowflake or Spirit Mt.).

In January we will have clinics on Jan 13, 20, and 27 (Tuesdays) from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. We are also working to schedule some weekend afternoon clinics, including beginning skate skiing. Stay tuned!

Tuesday January 13, 6:00—8:00 p.m.: Intermediate Skating with Michelle Flanagan-Haag and Nikolai Anikin at Lester. (“Intermediate” means you are pretty comfortable on skate skis but want to work on V1, V2, etc.) Register by Sunday, January 11, 5:00 p.m. by emailing your full name and phone number (cell # if you have one, in case of last minute changes due to weather) to info@duluthxc.com. You will receive a confirmation email from DXC.

Instructors, technique, and locations for Jan 20 & 27 will be announced here soon.

    Great lesson tonight!

Thanks to Nikolai, Michelle and Mike for coming out in the cold and helping us out!

Land on a bent ankle. Repeat.

    Thanks again!

Very grateful for the Tuesday night technique lesson with Nicolai, Michelle and Mike. Bending the ankles and getting down low while going up a hill made such a difference! Before bending the ankles I felt like a work horse plodding up a hill, now with this small trick going up a hill feels snappy and exhilerating. We appreciate the time, expertise and enthusiasm of these instructors.

    Thanks !
