Trail Volunteers Needed at Magney-Snively: Saturday Oct. 15th
DXC is looking for trail volunteers to prune the trail at Magney-Sniveley the weekend of October 15th (coming right up) to get things ready for the groomer. There will also be a need to wrestle some rocks
off the trail (dislodged by the mower recently). We plan a couple of shifts on Saturday: meet at 9 AM or 1 PM at the Magney-Snively trailhead parking lot on Skyline Parkway. You can bring your tools (hand saws, pole saws, loppers, hand pruners, pry bars) though DXC and the city will be able to provide some as well. Be sure to bring gloves and whatever protective gear you’d like. Dress for the weather and don’t forget trail snacks and water. Come enjoy what’s left of the colors in Duluth’s most beautiful forest! Contact coordinator Les Martin at 628-0625 to let him know you’d like to lend a hand.

Thanks to Les Martin and John Ipsen who cleared a long section of the Magney Snively trail system and removed many rocks from the trail bed (all the better to save your skis!) – Saturday morning through mid afternoon. The weather was nice and we had a chance to interact with the Wild Duluth crew in the parking lot as well. We may be looking for volunteers for the 2nd weekend in November to do the Bardon and Ely loops if the weather holds. Stay tuned!
