KidSki Program at Snowflake

The KidSki program will wrap up its season with the annual Carnival on Sunday, March 3rd. Should be plenty of snow for the festivities!

I have looked at the updated forecast for tomorrow and see that they are predicting “dangerous” wind chills throughout tomorrow in the -30 range with an air temp of about 2 F. KidSki at Snowflake and the Nordic Spirit Youth Ski League at Spirit are both cancelled due to icy trail conditions. Let’s hope for snow this week!  

We regret to announce that KidSki is cancelled today due to unsafe conditions on the ski trails (slush turning to ice). We plan to have a make-up day on February 17th. Enjoy your holidays, and we’ll see you on January 6th!

KidSki begins next Sunday at Snowflake Nordic Center (the program is full). A reminder to parents to arrive by 1:45pm (by 1:30 if you need to rent skis) to give yourself time to park. Skiers, if you’re not involved in KidSki you might want to choose another place to ski on Sunday afternoons!

Snowflake KidSki is on for Sunday, Dec. 19.  Coaches, there is no classical track on the trails, although the oval has a good track for level three.  Please plan your activities for the conditions.

The 1st session of KidSki, scheduled for Dec. 13th,  has been postponed for lack of snow.  Although trails are ski-able, the consensus is that the trails may not give a great skiing experience, and may be hard on people’s skis.  We’ll try again next week.  Hope for snow!

General registration for KidSki is closed, because we are full.  However, there are still a couple of classes with a space or two remaining, for specific skill levels.  For information, call Pete at 728-5134.

Registration is now open for the 2009-2010 KidSki season! KidSki Registration 2009-2010 form KidSki always fills up, and does so quickly. Entries will be processed as they are received.
